Mortal Engines (2018)
Critic Consensus: Mortal Engines has no shortage of eye-catching special effects, but lacks enough high-octane narrative fuel to give this futuristic fantasy sufficient cinematic combustion.

Critic Reviews for Mortal Engines
"Mortal Engines" is an entertaining movie if you don't ask too many questions of the story and stick to what's put in front of you onscreen.
Fortunately, all of it is brilliantly and efficiently explained in an interesting and compelling way. Just kidding.
It adds up to a giant slog, a movie that, despite its ambitious look, doesn't manage to offer us anything new. In the Screen Age, we'd refer to it as an epic fail.
"Mortal Engines" is such a visual marvel, such a dazzling, pictorially involving imagining of the future, it's a shame it's not completely worth seeing.
The story is bloated and, despite flashes of imagination, overly familiar.
